Your intimate visit will bring you to our home and includes an hour and a half narrated tour in which you will learn about sled dogs, the Iditarod sled dog race, and life in rural Alaska. The tour emphasizes multimedia through which you can experience the feeling of being on the Iditarod trail.

Guided Tour from Denali to Cantwell – Get the paw-ty started!
Your three hour experience begins with transportation services provided by DogGoneIt, where you will be picked up from your hotel lobby by Caitlin who will regale you with her vast knowledge of the area, as well as personal stories of living in Alaska as you travel alongside the gorgeous Nenana River carving its way through the majestic Alaska Range.
Meet the Pups – A Real Treat
Once you arrive at the kennel, you’ll paw-sitively melt when you are met by armfuls of adorable Alaskan Husky puppies! You will be given time to snuggle and take pictures with our newest pack members. Once your puppy fix has been satiated you’ll venture into the dog yard where you’ll meet the big dogs.
You will experience the thrill of watching a team taking off on a training run. A multimedia and live presentation offers a deep dive into the lives of these incredible athletes, culminating with the team thundering back into the kennel.
Once you are experts on all things Alaskan Husky, you will make your way into our theater, where it’s race time! Using photos and video Caitlin will take you through the intensive process of preparing for, and ultimately racing, the longest sled dog race in the world: The Iditarod! Spanning over 1,000 miles, the race is a true testament to the character, will, and spirit that embodies what it means to be an Alaskan.
Meet the Team
After you have had a chance for a snuggle and a photo, the more formal part of your visit begins. Watch as a team of enthusiastic sled dogs take off for a summer training run. Learn about the breed as you watch a slideshow of photos and video and meet individual members of the team.
Multimedia Presentation
Next you will move indoors for a multi-media presentation allowing you to understand and experience the Iditarod Sled Dog Race and what motivates Mike Santos to participate.
See video footage, photos, and equipment from the race and be entertained by stories of the successes and challenges we have encountered in our journey. Experience winter on the trail through our video, sound, and light show.
The Tail End
You will be given ample time for questions, a chance to peruse our gift shop, and of course, the opportunity to visit with our puppies before you head out on your next adventure. We pride ourselves on being the hardest place to leave, and I promise that your journey with us will last well beyond your visit.
