Winter has finally come to Alaska. After an unseasonably warm fall, the temperatures have fallen below zero and the Northern lights are illuminating the sky.

When the temperatures drop low, the Alaskan sled dogs spend the night in the comfort of the dog barn. Their excitement is palpable as they bark and dance awaiting their turn to a speedy dash to the doggie locker room, where they eagerly adjust their straw nest to be just right.

The barn is great for team bonding and hydration.

Of course the dogs love to cuddle any chance they get.

Max often brings puppies in the house.

And while he hasn’t tried teaching them Alaska History or Algebra 1, he has shared a few good shows.

Of course no kingdom is complete without a queen. Lady Zirkle has claimed the dog bed and the bone, happily snoozing away while the younger dogs are out on the trail.

Until next time, I hope that you are having as much fun with your dogs as we are with ours.
